Additional Details

This is apparently the second edition of the yet scarcer "Statement of the Facts Connected with the Recent Attempt to Form a State Government for Nebraska" (Nebraska Imprints 96, Sabin 90739), issued in response to a revisionist lecture given at the Nebraska Historical Society in 1880. A rather eccentric disclaimer on the title page reads "It was not written by C.H. Gere, and is entirely dissimilar from his narrative of the events herein recorded. The Nebraska Historical Society is requested to place this among its conserved truths." Not noted at auction since 1966. Graff 4123; Nebraska Imprints 470.
